In the past few years, schools have dramatically updated their design, layout, and furniture. There are several common elements and considerations at play as teachers strategically think about how to optimize their space to support various types of learning goals. As educators think about essential skills for future success, they realize that skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic should be coupled with contemporary skills such as collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. Physical space design is an important classroom consideration. We will share essential considerations and how to move from model classrooms to school-wide launches using design thinking.
