ECLPS Approved for 32 CEUs (24 HSWs) from IDCEC

May 28, 2025 — The EDmarket Certified Learning Place Specialist (ECLPS) program now offers 32 accredited education units (CEUs) from the International Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) — 24 of which qualify as Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) credits, a highly valued distinction in the design community.

ECLPS is a research-driven curriculum that bridges evidence and application, illustrating how the design of physical learning environments directly influences educational outcomes and performance. One of the program's greatest strengths lies in its powerful network of current and former participants, along with access to more than 75 national and international thought leaders in education and design.

These new IDCEC credits are in addition to the 32 CEUs from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), available over a two-year span — all for less than the cost of attending a single conference. ECLPS graduates can also earn 6 graduate-level credits applicable toward a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree at the American College of Education, a valuable opportunity for professionals looking to enhance their design credentials and pursue careers in campus planning or facilities management within educational institutions.

"The design community is a vital partner in the ECLPS mission, and we're proud to support their ongoing professional growth," said Jim McGarry, President and CEO of EDmarket. "There are still seats left for the 2025-2026 cohort for all who aspire to be changemakers in the planning of next-generation learning environments."

Launched in 2023, the ECLPS certification was created by EDmarket to unite a diverse community of professionals — architects, designers, education leaders, and industry partners — committed to shaping future-ready learning environments. This designation signifies mastery of key competencies in designing innovative educational spaces, guided by evidence-based strategies.
