The North Carolina Academy to Envision Tomorrow's Schools - The Voice of the Teacher

The North Carolina School Superintendents Association (NCSSA) is excited to share this overview of the NC Academy to Envision Tomorrow's Schools. Teachers across the great state of North Carolina were brought together by NCSSA to combine their leadership and wisdom with the substantial expertise represented by our partners Moseley Architects, Custom Educational Furnishings, and PowerupEDU to imagine the school facilities of tomorrow. Most importantly, the power of the teacher was celebrated and captured as these leading front-line educators enthusiastically contributed their voices and vision to the design process.

Learning Objectives

  1. See how research, combined with best practice and the power of leading teachers' voices, reveals design concepts not ordinarily considered in traditional school facility design processes.
  2. Have the opportunity to consider how the design of design processes may be influenced more deeply by teachers and other educators.
  3. Learn about a novel approach to addressing school facility design.
  4. Gain a glimpse of the design process, one which will be discussed more deeply at the EDspaces conference in November.
